a former walt disney imagineer, BERNARD CHANG was a concept designer responsible for “blue sky” design, which meant coming up with the ideas that would become the next theme parks, entertainment centers, attractions, shows and rides. his projects included the new disney mgm studios icon and interactive games for the 100 YEARS OF MAGIC CELEBRATION, as well as the ANIMATION PAVILLION (california adventure), THE MILLENIUM VILLAGE event (epcot), and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: BATTLE FOR BUCCANEER GOLD (disney quest), all of which received THEA AWARDS for best new attractions.

before joining disney, BERNARD firmly planted his artistic roots in the comic book industry. his work for valiant, marvel, and dc comics landed him a coveted spot on the top ten artists list in WIZARD: THE GUIDE TO COMICS. after being discovered by BOB LAYTON, he became the regular artist of THE SECOND LIFE OF DOCTOR MIRAGE for valiant comics. BERNARD also illustrated CABLE, THE NEW MUTANTS mini-series, and DAREDEVIL-DEADPOOL ‘97 - which was voted best one of the best marvel comics of 1997.

among his current works are three projects for regan books, including NEW YORK TIMES bestselling books-- HOW TO MAKE LOVE LIKE A PORN STAR (by JENNA JAMESON and NEIL STRAUSS, 2004) and THE GAME: PENETRATING THE SECRET SOCIETY OF PICKUP ARTISTS (STRAUSS). he is also the illustrator for BLUE SKY PRESS/SCHOLASTIC PRESS’ children‘s book series titled THE BLACK BELT CLUB. at ART CENTER COLLEGE OF DESIGN in pasadena, BERNARD teaches a class on sequential illustration.

BERNARD received his bachelors degree in architecture from PRATT INSTITUTE in new york city, graduating with honors, and was the captain of the basketball team. former assistant coach of the miami heat, TONY FIORENTINO, projected bernard as a late third round pick in the 1995 nba draft, before his career in art took off. he is also a graduate of the prestigious NEW WORLD SCHOOL OF THE ARTS in miami, florida, home of the world famous fightin’ pigeons.
